After a late kick-off due Tooting's bus getting held up in traffic, both teams set about giving the few fans an entertaining game, which ended in a 1-1 draw. Both keepers had to be on their mettle in the first half, making good saves when called upon.
The Woods were forced into an early change due to Joel Larrington's injury on 24 minutes. The impressive young Tom Janssen switching flanks at the back, allowing Timmy Salako to resume in the right-back berth.
Pat Lawrence up front turned his marker on a couple of occasions, but left his shooting boots behind as he blasted both efforts high and wide. However, when he has had another couple of games, he looks a good prospect.
Both teams played some good football, particularly in the second half, and it was Tooting who grabbed an undeserved lead on 75 minutes when their striker drove home an unstoppable volley from a corner.
The Woods had at least three good chances to score, but the failing up front continues. Janssen made two superb goal-saving tackles to keep the score down and Mark Britt also had a couple of terrific long range shots to deal with.
But, credit to Northwood, they continued to take the game to Tooting and got their just reward on 90 minutes, when Anton Lewis turned two defenders out wide on the right, sent in a hard low pass across the face of goal and Anton Robinson fired it back into the far corner for a deserved equaliser.
I was very impressed with the defence in this game, all of the boys worked extremely hard.
Man of the Match: Tom Janssen.
